We are responsible for managing a model forecasting expected loss (EL) based on historic performance.
Allowance for bad debts is reserved to cover loss forecasted on a monthly basis, and the loss includes changes in the allowance, disposal, amortization etc. As the loss is directly related to the company’s P/L, it is high on the management’s agenda. That’s why we closely manage and operate the EL model to accurately forecast expected loss to the best extent possible.
The model forecasts expected loss using internal and external rating as of today, other loss data, and product data. The forecasting is in principle based on historic data, and we seek to incorporate other complementary measures to make it more relevant to latest data such as new product volume or alternative credit rating.
With the recent adoption of new accounting standards (IFRS9), we are also focusing on further sophisticating the model by adding stronger indexes which can represent significant increase in credit risk, as well as current data.

We plan new mobile products/services based on our understanding of market trends, customer needs, and mobile/IT technologies. With skills to quickly deliver outstanding concepts in digital products that thrive on rapidly changing market, we manage the entire process of product development from planning to rollout, including UX/UI, software/hardware development, and marketing, through collaborating and cooperating with multiple teams.

We look after A to Z to offer the most convenient and safest payment services to our members.
We are planning and operating online/mobile/O2O payment services and taking care of the payment system. We are also finding improvement opportunities for/operating Hyundai Card app card and Payshot service and expanding our services by partnering with terminal-based mobile payment & digital wallet services such as Samsung Pay, LG Pay, Android Pay, etc. and on/offline payment services such as Payco, Smile Pay, etc. to improve customer convenience in payments. Actuaries develop insurance products and conduct pricing by quantifying diverse risks which may occur in our life from birth to death based on statistics and forecasting methodologies. They work in Product Development, Actuarial and Risk Management, and increasingly expand their work scope particularly in recent days.
Product Development Team is responsible for forecasting future profits and loss over insurance period and calculating reasonable prices, by estimating probabilities regarding new coverage catering to customer needs. For the pricing, marketing elements are also taken into account, in addition to actuarial aspects, in order to clearly capture customer needs.
